During the 2025-2026 school year, 3,613 students in Pierce County experienced homelessness. These numbers represent only those we can count. Many more youth struggle daily with depression, anxiety, isolation, addiction, and trauma—often fighting to survive the day.

One Hope Gala sponsor, Matt Lewis from Pacific Lifestyle Homes shared, “Housing is something that’s obviously near and dear to our hearts, and there’s such a huge need. When you talk about children, there are even fewer choices.”

The Coffee Oasis is the only low-barrier youth shelter in Pierce County. And last year, you provided 2,897 bed nights of shelter and essential resources such as showers, laundry, food, and more for 1,588 youth.

The Coffee Oasis 9th Annual Coffee & Corks will ensure that the doors of The Coffee Oasis shelter remain open for youth in need and create new opportunities for transitional housing for young moms—to offer safety, vital resources, and life-changing hope. This night of fundraising and hope will happen on Wednesday, September 30, 2026 at The Waterfront Venue at Narrows Marina.
